Coaching is often the fastest way for an expert to earn from what they know. You don't need a finished course or a big audience, just a clear promise and a few people you can help. Kajabi Coaching lets you sell, schedule and run those sessions from the same account as the rest of your business.1

My own coaching today is a Simplify Day and the weekly calls in my community, so I don't run Kajabi Coaching live. Even so, I’ve set it up and tested it on my account, and this guide shows you exactly what I found. It covers one-to-one and group coaching in equal measure, because most coaches end up offering both.

To keep things real, I built two coaching programs for my example business. They belong to Emily Chase, a patisserie chef I created for my examples, who runs The Gluten-Free Baking Community. You'll see her one-to-one package and her group program throughout this guide.

The short answer

Kajabi Coaching lets you sell one-to-one packages, single sessions and group programs, with booking, built-in live video, agendas, notes and resources in one place. Each coaching program counts as one product on your plan. Kajabi plans start at $179 a month, or $143 a month billed yearly, with no revenue share on what you sell. The standard Kajabi trial is 14 days, and through my partner link you get 30 days.

What is Kajabi Coaching?

Kajabi Coaching is a product type for selling your time and expertise as structured sessions. You build a program, give each session an agenda and resources, and connect it to an offer so clients can buy it.2 Once someone buys, the program appears in their library as their own coaching space.

One-to-one

A private package of sessions for each client who buys.3

Group

One set of live sessions shared by every client in a group.4

Single session

A one-off call, such as a paid strategy session or a free discovery call.6

Everything lives next to your courses, community, emails and checkout. That means a client can buy a coaching package on the same page as your course, get the same welcome emails and log in to the same account. For me, that joined-up view is the whole point of running a business on Kajabi.

Should you choose one-to-one or group coaching?

Both formats are built into the same product, so the choice comes down to how you like to work. One-to-one coaching gives each client their own sessions, booked around your calendar. Group coaching runs one shared set of sessions for many clients at once, scheduled by you.6

Many coaches start with one-to-one work, learn what clients really need, and then build a group program from those lessons. Kajabi makes that move easy, because the setup steps for both formats are almost identical.

My tip: if your coaching is mostly the follow-through between calls, look at Kajabi Backstage as well. It adds messaging, voice notes and tasks for each one-to-one client, while Coaching is built around the sessions themselves.

What do your coaching clients see?

Each client gets a program page on your site, styled with your own colours and fonts. They see every session in order, with its description, the coach's name and the length of the call.2 On a one-to-one package, each session has a Schedule session button, so clients book straight from the page.

The client view of Emily's one-to-one package, shown in preview mode. Clients book each session straight from this page, as built inside Kajabi.

Inside each session, clients find their meeting link, the agenda, any resources you've attached and their own private notes.2 When it's time to meet, they click Join Session in their browser, with nothing to download.7 Clients can't enter the call until you start it, so nobody waits in an empty room.

How do you set up a one-to-one coaching program?

Setting up a program takes a few minutes once you know what each session will cover. Here are the steps from Kajabi's guide to creating a coaching product, in the order you'll see them.3

  1. Start a new programGo to Products, then Coaching, and click New coaching program. Add a title, coach name, description and thumbnail.
  2. Choose the formatPick 1:1 Coaching or Group Coaching, then enter how many sessions the program includes.
  3. Pick how clients bookChoose the Kajabi Scheduler, Calendly, a custom link or manual booking.
  4. Choose where you meetUse built-in live video, a custom meeting link or a physical address, and set the session length.
  5. Set the priceMake it free or paid, choose a pricing plan and currency, and Kajabi creates the offer for you.
  6. Fill in each sessionOpen the Package outline, then add a description, agenda items and resources to every session.

Emily's package has 4 sessions, each with a clear job. Session 1 is a bake audit, Session 2 builds a core recipe set, Session 3 prices a bake menu and Session 4 plans her client's launch.

Kajabi · Coaching session editor
The Kajabi coaching session editor for Session 1 Bake audit and goals, with a title, a session description and an agenda of three items
Session 1 of Emily's package, with its description and a 3-item agenda the client sees before the call, as built inside Kajabi.

Clients sometimes need one more session to reach their goal. You can add an extra session to any client’s package from the Clients tab, and charge for it with a separate offer.10

An agenda does more work than it looks. Your client arrives knowing what you'll cover and what to bring, so the first ten minutes go on progress instead of catching up. You can also keep private notes on every client's sessions, and they can add notes of their own.2

How does group coaching work in Kajabi?

A group program holds the sessions, and each group inside it is one intake of clients. You can run several groups side by side, for example a January group and a spring group, each with its own dates.4 Groups follow the program's scheduling settings unless you choose to override them.

Kajabi · Group coaching

The January 2027 Circle, the first group in Emily's 6-week Gluten-Free Baking Circle. Each session is scheduled by the coach, as built inside Kajabi.

In a group program, you set the date and time of each session yourself, one session at a time.5 If someone joins after you've scheduled the sessions, they get an email invite to each one, as long as you use the Kajabi Scheduler.5

There's no limit on how many clients can join a group.4 To keep a group small, set a quantity limit on its offer instead. The live room holds up to 200 people on video, with up to 20 breakout rooms of 10 people each.7 Emily uses breakout rooms in Week 5, when small teams bake the same recipe and compare results.

How do scheduling and live video work?

The Kajabi Scheduler connects to Google Calendar, Outlook or Office 365, and every booked session lands in your own calendar automatically.6 You set one availability schedule, and it applies to all your coaching programs.

Kajabi · Scheduling settings

Emily's group program uses the Kajabi Scheduler and Kajabi Live Video, with 60-minute sessions, as built inside Kajabi.

Clients can book up to 200 days ahead, and the default window is 2 weeks.6 You can send as many reminders as you like to you and your client, from 5 days before a session to 15 minutes before.6

Built-in live video works when you use the Kajabi Scheduler or manual booking. Choosing Calendly or a custom link means you meet on that tool instead.2 The video room includes screen sharing, recording, chat and breakout rooms, and it's included in your plan at no extra cost.7

One thing to know before you promise anything to clients. Coaching runs in any mobile web browser, but it isn't available in the Kajabi mobile app yet.7

Which Kajabi plan do you need for coaching?

Coaching is included on every plan as a product type, so the question is how many products you want to sell. Each coaching program counts as one product, along with your courses, memberships and downloads. You can compare every detail on the Kajabi pricing page.8

Basic is plenty for a one-to-one package, a group program and a free discovery call. Kajabi takes no share of your sales on any plan, so a $1,500 coaching package costs you only the normal card fee.8

The standard free trial lasts 14 days, as Kajabi's trial information page explains.9 Through my partner link you get 30 days, which is enough time to build your program, run a test booking and invite your first client.

How do you turn a coaching call into a client?

Kajabi suggests a neat way to open the door. Create a single-session coaching product, attach it to a free offer, and you have a bookable discovery call.6 What happens on that call is where most coaches win or lose the client. The framework I teach for it is Selling Without Selling.

Definition

Selling Without Selling

Selling Without Selling is a 7-step conversation framework created by Ant Hodges, author of Simplify the Funnel®. It replaces the sales pitch with honest questions, so the client explains their problem, sees the cost of leaving it, and chooses the next step for themselves.

Here are the 7 steps, in order, as you'd use them on a free discovery call:

  1. What is bugging you right now?Let them describe the problem in their own words.
  2. What happens if you don't sort that?Help them see the cost of staying where they are.
  3. Where do you want to be in 12 months?Paint the picture of the result they really want.
  4. Can I show you what I think might help?Ask permission before you share anything.
  5. Prescribe the ideal next stepRecommend the program that fits, with no money mentioned yet.
  6. How does that sound?Check the fit and answer their questions honestly.
  7. Price and how would you like to payShare the price and the payment options last.

This fits Kajabi Coaching neatly. The call is booked through your scheduler, the agenda reminds you of the steps, and the paid package sits one click away on the same site.

“It’s time to reject complexity as strategy. Embrace the power of doing less, but better.”

From Simplify the Funnel® by Ant Hodges

Where does AI help with coaching, and where should you stay human?

My belief is that AI creates movement, and humans create momentum. Coaching is the most human thing you sell, so keep AI firmly in the back office and give your clients your full attention.

Back office: let AI help

  • Drafting session descriptions and agendas
  • Turning your notes into a follow-up summary
  • Writing booking reminders and welcome emails

Front office: stay human

  • The live conversation and the questions you ask
  • Reading what your client really needs
  • The advice you give and how you give it

Who is Kajabi Coaching best for?

Kajabi Coaching fits experts who want their sessions, payments and other products in one place. It works especially well when you also sell a course or community, because clients can move from one to the other without a new login.

A great fit if you

  • Sell one-to-one packages, group programs or both
  • Want booking, video and payment without extra tools
  • Plan to add a course or community alongside your coaching

Another route may suit you if you

  • Need clients to join calls inside the Kajabi mobile app
  • Want messaging and tasks between calls, where Backstage fits better

Try this

Your first 30 days with Kajabi Coaching

  1. Start your trial and connect your calendar to the Kajabi Scheduler.
  2. Create a free single-session program for discovery calls.
  3. Build your paid package with an agenda for every session.
  4. Book a test session with yourself and join the live room.
  5. Invite 5 people to a discovery call and use the 7 steps.
